Westridge Townhomes

Seattle, Washington

Repairing major structural issues for a large-scale townhome community.

With 90 units, the massive Westridge Townhomes project spanned more than a year and required the efforts of up to 60 Charter staff daily. The repairs and renovations included fixing internal structural and framing issues on all 23 buildings and replacing the buildings’ roofs. A few internal repairs were done to unit bathrooms that sustained water damage over time. When it came time to update the buildings’ facades, the siding, windows, decks, and wooden deck railings had to be removed and replaced.

The Challenge

The project scale required exceptional organizational planning and coordination. COVID-19-related supply chain problems meant that acquiring and budgeting for materials was especially difficult. Charter’s project manager had to constantly adjust the schedule to make up for ongoing changes to delivery times.

The Solution

Charter employed comprehensive COVID-19 safety protocols throughout the pandemic at every job site, and there was a safety manager on-site during the entire project to ensure all precautions were observed. Some of the work for the Westridge project had to be completed inside residents’ units, so strict adherence to safety measures was essential.

We coordinated a team of more than 60 employees and contractors to complete this large repair project over the course of one year.
