Lawton Park Townhomes
Seattle, Washington
Improving energy efficiency with exterior upgrades.
Charter Construction initiated an exterior remodel project at the Lawton Park Townhomes located in Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood. The townhouse owners expressed dissatisfaction with the energy efficiency of the original windows installed across the six-building, 31-unit complex. We worked closely with the Homeowners Association (HOA) to execute a complete exterior remodel.

The Challenge
The biggest challenge of this job was navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. Charter’s top priority was to ensure the safety of both the Lawton Townhome residents and the Charter staff at all times. Since the building was occupied during the project, a significant number of residents were home throughout the day due to remote work and schooling.
The Solution
Charter purchased the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensured that it was used during all person-to-person interactions. Sanitation measures were implemented according to CDC guidelines, and additional time for these processes was incorporated into the daily schedule. Despite the complications posed by the pandemic, the project was completed on time and within budget.
Following strict COVID-19 precautions, we safely completed our work without disrupting residents who were home most of the day.

Lasting Dividends
Through our work, we were able to create lasting energy efficiency for the residents, improving comfort and lowering costs.
